Fine Art & Antiques
From one piece to an entire
household, our appraisal professionals can identify, research, value,
and offer maintenance and preservation instructions on a wide range of
items. If your item is outside our areas expertise, we work within a large network of
independent appraisers across the country allowing us the capability to
identify and appraise any item.
We begin the appraisal process by scheduling a confidential consultation appointment
with our clients either at our office or at their residence. If clients wish to have items appraised, this is when we examine,
photograph, and evaluate the piece. Normally, no valuation estimates are given at this time.
Next, we begin our research. Appraising fine art and
antiques is a science which is dominated by proper
identification/authentication, and RESEARCH.
Our research team, including industry experts and independent
appraisers, studies books, online sources, current auction references, and
other appropriate sources to properly and accurately value every piece.
Finally, after our thorough research is completed, we come
to an accurate value (or value range) of your piece, complete the appraisal
reports, and meet with/contact you to explain our findings. Maintenance and antique care information is
also provided.
Values are assessed from the appraiser’s
industry knowledge, research of the most current trade references, and, when
appropriate, consulting independent specialists. Values can represent retail
replacement or fair market values, as needed.
Each Appraisal Includes:
- Photographs, detailed description, value range
- All applicable/important piece
information
- One color copy appraisal (photographs)
- One consolidated copy (no photographs)

$3,000 up; our Silverware Appraisals & Inventories are an affordable way to
record all silver items from flatware to tea sets. Prices for silver appraisals
are available upon request, and depend on the type of piece, condition, and
amount of research involved.
